01. OVERVIEW

Between occurrence and echo lives a territory that cannot be diagrammed. Spatial character is not a property of the sound — it is a property of two variables: interval, the precise temporal displacement between a sound and its return, and feedback, the ratio that determines whether each returning reflection decays into silence or accumulates until the system no longer releases.

Every echo device inhabits this territory. What differs is what the circuit does to the signal within each interval, and what that does across successive cycles through the regen path. The EM-601 was engineered for that interval — and only for that interval.
